Push-Pull Valve in Filter Position

In the diagram below, there is a DE filter with a plunger valve in the filter position. The water enters through the bottom of the filter and is filtered out through the grids. It then enters the manifold at the top of the filter and the plunger valve directs the water back out to the pool return line.
