Ball Valves

A ball valve has a “ball” inside the valve with a hole that goes through the ball.  When the handle is in line
with the pipe the valve is open and when the handle is perpendicular to the pipe the valve is closed.   

Ball valves also come in a “one armed bandit” configuration.  They are generally made out of brass rather than
plastic.  They operate in the same way as a ball valve.
