| In the diagram below, there is a sand filter with a multiport valve in the closed position. In this position, the ports on the multiport valve are closed off and no water will travel through it. This setting is useful to keep the filter from draining back into the pump while servicing the pump. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RUN THE PUMP WITH THE BACKWASH VALVE IN THIS POSITION. |
