Pump Options

When you have determined
the Flow Rate needed for your pool and gathered other information to help you
size the pump, you will see there are many options available that affect the
operation of the pool and pump and the use of electricity. This section presents
information about those options and how to determine which pump will work best
for you.

Pumps with a
Purpose

            Pumps are
designed for specific types of use. Among those are:

Booster  pumps,
above ground

, in
ground pumps

Waterfall & Water Feature
pumps

These pump are designed to provide the correct water flow
and pressure needed to produce the effect you need for a beautiful waterfall or
fountain or other feature

3 phase pumps are
used where 3-phase power is what is available rather than the more common single
phase

Commercial Pumps
are pumps with high horsepower made for very big pumping jobs. They are usually
at least 3 HP and go up to 5, 7.5, 10 and higher HP levels.

Some pumps have motors or controls that are more efficient in the use
of  electricity than others. Careful attention to this can save you money.

Single speed, 2-speed
and variable speed pumps

Standard and
energy efficient single speed pumps

            Pumps have
different Horsepower and Service Factors ratings that affect the Total
Brake  Horsepower and Flow Rates produced.

Up-rated and full-rated
