Choosing a Pool Cleaner

Automatic pool cleaners such as the
Polaris Vac Sweep are an excellent addition to any pool, but it is
important to match the right pool cleaner to your pool.

that best describes your pool:

My pool already has a
BOOSTER PUMP such as a Polaris PB-4 or a Letro Booster Pump.

Not
sure if you have a booster pump?

Check by the equipment and see if
you have a separate poolsweep booster pump.  It often looks
like this one and does not have a trap basket like the pool pump
does.  Older booster pumps may be vertically mounted rather
than horizontal.  Click
here for an illustration of a booster pump line.

My pool does not have a booster pump but does
have a DEDICATED PRESSURE LINE in the pool.

What
is a dedicated pressure line?

NOTE:  A
dedicated pressure line is a pipe that runs from the equipment area to the pool to
deliver pressure to the cleaner.  It
delivers water pressure to the cleaner to power it.  A dedicated
line on the suction side is one that operates under suction.
It delivers suction to the cleaner to operate it.  Click
here for an illustration of a dedicated pressure line.

My pool does not have a booster pump but does
have a DEDICATED SUCTION LINE in the pool.

What is a
dedicated suction line?

NOTE:  A dedicated
suction line
is a pipe that runs from the equipment area to the pool to
deliver suction to the cleaner.  The suction causes the cleaner to
move around the pool and it also sucks in the debris off the
bottom.   Click
here for an illustration of a dedicated suction line.

My pool
has NO BOOSTER PUMP OR DEDICATED POOLSWEEP LINE in the pool.
